Arianna Jackson was injured: In a tense moment during the NCAA Tournament’s second-round match between the Iowa State Cyclones and Stanford on Sunday, freshman guard Arianna Jackson from Iowa State had to leave the game following a significant fall.
The incident occurred in the third quarter when Jackson, attempting to move toward the basket, tripped and landed face-first on the court.
She managed to stand up shortly after but was seen bleeding and had to be taken to the locker room, as reported by the ESPN commentator.
Despite the setback, Jackson returned to the sidelines in the final quarter, now with a bandage over her chin, although she did not re-enter the game.
In this match, she contributed three points from a single three-point shot, her only attempt during the game. Jackson is recognized as part of this season’s Cyclones’ acclaimed group of freshmen.
Throughout the season, she has maintained averages of 4.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
