The only goal of the match came from Jose Copete, leaving Girona to rue missed opportunities and falling behind in their chase for the top spot.

Despite controlling possession, Girona failed to capitalize on their opportunities, with notable attempts by Portu and Savio being thwarted by a determined Mallorca defense aiming to distance themselves from relegation.

The game’s initial opportunity was presented to Girona when Miguel Gutierrez delivered a cross to Ivan Martinez, whose header was comfortably saved by Mallorca’s goalkeeper, Predrag Rajkovic.
